Medieval Wars takes us back to the popular tournaments of the Middle Ages when knights would compete against each other in various events – most notably, jousting.
The opening theme seemingly emerges out of silence and soon indicates the entry of the knights into the stadium.
One can picture the procession of these noble knights, riding their magnificent horses and dressed in spectacular armor while carrying their weapons of choice.
The tournament soon begins and we are plunged into the midst of battle, as knights gallop toward each other with swords and spears in hand then meet on foot to further the battle.
The fast pace of the music leaves no room to relax as tension heightens during this dramatic series of events.
Finally, as the music continues to build, the opening theme returns in a glorious statement under pulsating rhythms in upper violins, as a champion is crowned, riding in glory around the stadium during the final ceremony.
